The youngest member of the Miraphone Tuba Quartett was born in 1974 in Chamonix, where his education on the euphonium started at the age of eleven.

In 1990 he changed to Lyon, where he received the conservatory' s first prize after only one year.

Afterwards he continued his studies at the National Conservatory in Paris where he was, like his colleague Philippe Wendling, awarded with the first prize for euphonium.

He also is a member of the Parisian Police-Orchestra.
Moreover he frequently makes music with the National Opera of Paris and the National Orchestra of Lyon.

Every musician, who spends as many years with the tuba, as I do, longs for the instrument to not only be a background-accompaniment, but also, that the listeners become aware of it as a "solo-instrument"- just as our work as Miraphone Tuba Quartett wants to show.

According to Patrick Couttet, one of the quartet's major aims is to rejuvenate the image of brass music. Only very few lovers of classical music are aware of the great variety of expressions and the wide range of use, that tuba and euphonium possess.

With our concerts we want to convince a big audience of how varied and entertaining brass music can be.
