Miraphone Tuba Quartett
Olivier was born in Abbeville in 1967 and at the age of ten he started playing the tuba.
The following years he was educated in Amiens, until he decided to move to Paris in 1988.
His talent was honoured with the first prize of the regional conservatory, that he at first attended.
Afterwards he was admitted to the National Conservatory in Paris, where he improved his knowledge until 1994.
Like the other members of the Miraphone Tuba Quartett, Olivier Galmant received the conservatory's first prize for tuba, and in addition, he also was awarded with the first price for chamber music.
Olivier is a member of the Musique des Gardiens de la Paix de Paris (Paris Metropolitan Police Band) and besides he regularly plays together with some of the biggest orchestras in France, and he’s employed at the Orchestre National de Bretagne.
He’s teaching in Paris, at the Conservatory of the 9th arrondissement.
